Supra Mahumapelo has been elected ANC leader in the North West. Mahumapelo, the former provincial secretary, beat his rival Mmoloki Pheelwane by 409 votes to 313.
Mahumapelo was earlier accused of causing infighting by leading a faction-based provincial leadership.
However, his camp took all five top positions with convincing numbers yesterday. The ANC has congratulated the new leadership.
China Dodovu was elected deputy chair while Kabelo Matebogo, a former youth commission chair in the province, was elected secretary.
Former Madibeng municipal manager Philemon Mapulane was voted to treasurer.
