At least eleven people were killed and 29 injured in a stampede at a political rally at Port Harcourt in the Niger Delta region. The tragedy happened after a speech by President Goodluck Jonathan.
A police officer apparently fired a shot in the air while hundreds of people were moving out of the stadium.
People panicked and couldn‘t get through the main gate. They were trampled as they tried to leave through a narrow passageway.
