The two policemen who were involved in an quarrel with ANC veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and her bodyguards in December last year, have been suspended.
Warrant Officer Jannie Odendaal and Constable Abel Twala stopped Madikizela-Mandela's car on the M1 north in Johannesburg as it was allegedly being driven recklessly at 150 kilometres per hour.
An argument followed between the policemen and the bodyguards after the car was stopped.
Police spokesperson, Neville Malila, says the two policemen have been suspended with full salary and benefits, while the disciplinary proceedings against them are finalised.
