An angler is believed to have drowned at Monwabisi Beach in False Bay after being swept from the rocks at the height of the spring tide.
NSRI spokesperson Clint Abrahams says the 51-year-old man was swept out to sea while fishing with his two nephews.
A air\sea search involving the NSRI, the SA Police Service and a Metro EMS rescue squad failed to find any sign of the missing man.
A Police Dive Unit has been summoned to the scene and the search continues.
