Death toll in the Karoo accident has risen to 20

The death toll in the horror accident on the N-One at the Karro has risen to 20.

Two children are amongst those killed.

Rescue personnel fear the death toll could rise further as some of the many injured have been rushed to hospitals in a serious condition.

Apparently a mini-bus taxi travelling towards Cape Town smashed into a truck travelling in the other direction early this morning.

A second taxi could not brake in time and crashed into the back of the first mini-bus taxi.

All the victims were in the two taxis. It is still not certain how many people were rushed to hospitals in the area following the accident.
