The Democratic Alliance has slammed the appointment of Hlaudi Motsoeneng as acting chief operations officer of the SABC.
The DA’s Natasha Michael says it appears to be a political appointment.
Michael says the position was not advertised. Motsoeneng was nevertheless appointed, despite an internal audit in 2006, which revealed that he had apparently falsified his qualifications in his initial application.
He is said to have claimed to have passed matric, but had failed it twice.
Motsoeneng was also dismissed from the corporation before, for breaching SABC rules.
