The South African Revenue Service says an administrative penalty of ten-percent of the tax owed to Sars will be applied to people who submit their tax returns after the January 2012 deadline.
Non-provisional taxpayers who are submitting via e-Filing have until the 25th of this month to complete their returns.
Sars says so far they have received three-million returns.
Adrian Lackay from Sars says the ten-percent penalty will increase monthly as long as it is still outstanding.
