Convicted paedophile Ian Appleton wins an appeal in the Western Cape High Court today.
Judges Vincent Saldanha and Daniel Dlodlo ordered that Appleton be sentenced to correctional supervision instead.
This will also include a period of house arrest and some jail time.
The judges referred the case back to the Paarl Regional court to determine the period of imprisonment as well as the house arrest.
The retired accountant performed oral sex on an eight-year-old three years ago.
