A group of dedicated men and women are watching the seas to ensure that no one gets eaten by a shark. The beaches that are being observed is Muizenberg , Fish Hoek and Noord Hoek in Cape Town.

The shark spotters provide a service to alert swimmers and surfers of potential shark danger. The team of shark spotters monitor the beaches 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm everyday.

This project has started in 2004 and 1000 sharks have since been spotted through this project.

The shark spotters stand on the mountain and communicate any shark sightings via cellular phones they are provided with. This project is now sponsored by the City of Cape Town and the World Wildlife Fund.
