An end to the fuel shortage in Gauteng may be in sight after Shell announced that they are making steady progress towards restoring services at their Alberton depot.
The depot was forced to shut down last week due to an oil spill.
This seriously hampered shell’s ability to deliver fuel to its petrol stations, leading to a shortage across Gauteng.
The company’s spokesperson Elton Fortuin says they expect the depot to be fully operational by the end of this weekend.
