The Basic Education Department is looking into implementing HIV testing in schools.

The precise date for this roll out is yet to be confirmed as the testing campaign needs to be finalised.

A number of challenges need to be dealt with first to ensure that the schools have the capacity to perform testing and counsel the learners.

A task team is at present investigating the planned programme.
