Two men were killed when a light aircraft crashed on the R-55 near Erasmia, Pretoria, on Wednesday evening.
Four men in a car had a narrow escape when the two-seater Cessna hit their vehicle before nose-diving into the busy road next to the Swartkops race track.
Police say the plane had taken off from the Swartkops air force base on a routine flight shortly before the crash.
The names of the deceased pilot and co-pilot have not yet been released.
The men in the car were treated for minor injuries and shock.
