The ANC has sent Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe to address the party’s Limpopo elective conference in Polokwane over the weekend.
President Jacob Zuma was expected to speak at the gathering, but reports say Motlanthe replaced him to prevent some delegates from possibly humiliating Zuma.

The conference is expected to set the tone for the ANC's succession battle in Mangaung next year
