The beginning of the festive season has had approximatley 1,400 motorists arrested across the country for various offences.
The offences range from the drunk driving, exceeding the speed limit, driving without a driver’s license and overloading.
The traffic department expects more arrest to be made because motorists continue violating the law and traffic is always on the increase around Christmas time.
The traffic department urges motorists to know their alcohol limit and test their vehicles before embarking on any journey.
