Former national director of Public Prosecutions Bulelani Ngcuka has commended newly-appointed head of the Special Investigation Unit Willem Heath for his decision to resign.
SIU’s Willem Heath announced his resignation on Thursday.
Shortly after his appointment at the end of last month, Heath caused a stir by alleging that former president Thabo Mbeki had interfered in the cases against Shabir Shaik and President Jacob Zuma.
Ngcuka says Heath’s resignation is in the best interests of the country and the Special Investigating Unit.
