North West Public Safety-MEC Desbo Mohono has commended members of the public for the tip-off that led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man for human trafficking.
The Mahikeng organised crime police unit believe the suspect is part of a human trafficking syndicate.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on Monday on charges of human traficking.
The eight girls and five boys, aged between four and 16, are believed to have been destined for Cape Town.
