Newly appointed head of the Special Investigations Unit Willem Heath will know the outcome of an investigation into controversial comments he made about Thabo Mbeki by the end of the week.

Heath told newspapers last week that the former head of state initiated the corruption and rape charges against President Jacob Zuma.

Heath also said that Mbeki abused his position as President by blocking investigations into corrupt practices.

Zuma has asked Justice Minister Jeff Radebe to investigate Heath’s accusations.

Radebe says he would also look at the weight of the reports which were published in the newspapers.
