Independent TV station TopTV looks set to launch three new porn channels over Christmas, as Christian organisations prepare to boycott the network.
TopTV has yet to receive approval from the Independent Communication Authority of South Africa, or Icasa, but says they will go ahead with the launch.
The station’s spokesman Thato Mahapa says that the channels have been authorised by default, claiming that Icasa failed to respond to their application within 60 days.
Christian organisations such as the Africa Christian Action say they are planning to boycott the pay-station and have called on Icasa to deny the license to TopTV’s parent company.
