A 21 year old man from Durban was mugged at the Maclear Beacon around Table Mountain yesterday when he was hiking with his family.
The Table Mountain Cableway management expressed their concerns today as the tourist mistook the mugger for an official.
The tourist`s wallet,camera and a cellphone were taken.
There is a cellphone video footage taken by one of the family members.The footage shows the attacker was wearing black pants ,lime green shirt and carrying a red bag.
The Maclear`s Beacon CEO Sabine Lehmann said the footage has been handed to the police to help with their investigations and also said that any mugging on the mountain is a worrying factor more especially that the attacker was believed to be an official by the tourist.
