Man wakes up from coma after spiked drink

The man who had his drink spiked after celebrating the imminent arrival of his son, has woken up from his coma.
Travis Van Niekerk was fighting for his life while his girlfriend gave birth to their baby.
Van Niekerk woke up six days later and was told of what happened and that he became a father.
He was unable to recall anything about what had happened to him.
Tests showed a barbiturate type of sedative in his blood, while no other drugs were found in his system.
