Cosatu strike will not affect the Metrorail services

Metrorail bosses in the Western Cape are confident that Wednesday's Congress of the South African Trade Union strike will not affect their services.

Thousands of union members are expected to march through the streets of the Mother City.

Cosatu  will protest against labour brokers and the implementation of the controversial Gauteng e-tolling system.

In Cape Town motorists have been advised to avoid the city centre until 2pm.

Metrorail’s Eddie Chinnapen said that contingency plans are in place.
