Five people were killed and eight others were injured in a crash involving a minibus taxi and a car in Mbombela in Mpumalanga.
Netcare 911 paramedics said the two vehicles were traveling towards each other.
The driver of the car apparently lost control of his vehicle.
It spun into the path of the minibus, causing the accident.
