The Gauteng MEC for education Barbara Creecy said that girls, who fell pregnant while still at school, should be encouraged to return to school to finish their education.
Creecy said that children who remained on course are more likely to be employed as adults and are less likely to be caught up in crime and be healthier.
She added that she needs to know what they can do for learners who fall pregnant.
Creecy said they don’t fall pregnant because of a lack of information and they do know about the birds and the bees.
