Plans for tolled highways in the Western Cape put on hold

The Government has reportedly put on hold plans for tolled highways in the Western Cape.

Deputy Transport Minister Jeremy Cronin said that government will not prioritize the Winelands Toll Road Project.

The City took the National Roads Agency and the Transport Department to court in a bid to block toll road plans.

The provincial government of the Western Cape and City of Cape Town strongly opposed the planned tolling.
