School rugby match turns violent

The principal of a high school in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga said a rugby match between two rival schools turned violent.

It is apparent that spectators attacked players with baseball bats, pipes and hockey sticks.

The headmaster of Evander High School said his learners were also stopped from leaving Reyno Park Hoƫrksool as spectators blocked off the exits.

He said that one player was knocked unconscious while parents were also hurt.

The headmaster said emotions ran high as spectators blocked off exits and threw rocks and bottles at Evander High School buses.

The police was called but never arrived.

Attempts to contact the headmaster of Reyno Park Hoƫrskool have been unsuccessful.
