The Weather Service has downgraded Tropical Cyclone Irina.

The officials said that there is no indication that the storm will make landfall.

Northern KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Mpumalanga and Limpopo have their disaster relief teams on standby since yesterday to prepare for heavy rain and possible flooding.

The Weather Service now says the centre of the storm is moving eastwards but will still result in heavy falls over the southern part of Mozambique, Swaziland, Mpumalanga and the east coast of South Africa.
