An Eastern Cape student nurse has handed herself over to police after a new-born baby was stolen from Port Elizabeth’s Dora Nzinga Hospital last week.

The baby boy was left in New Brighton two days later by two women driving a BMW X5.

The nurse had apparently instructed the mother of the baby to take a bath and had disappeared with the baby.

Eastern Cape police said that the student nurse had apparently had a miscarriage but did not want to tell her boyfriend.
