Two people died and 55 others were left homeless after two fires in Cape Town this morning.
Seventeen shacks were destroyed in Du and Khayelitsha.
The first fire broke out in the Site Five informal settlement in Du Noon in the early hours of this morning.
A young boy burnt to death in the blaze.
A total of eight shacks were gutted, leaving 30 people displaced.
Another fire broke out in QQ Section in Khayelitsha, a man was killed and 25 others were left homeless.
Disaster management spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said that the identity of the man is unknown at this stage.
Solomons-Johannes added that the cause of the fires is not known.
