South African farmers have been offered the prospect of farming in other African countries as restrictions on land ownership in SA tighten.

Agri-SA says 26 African countries have invited SA farmers to relocate to their country in the past three years.

Vice-President of the group Theo de Jager says 13 SA farmers settled in Congo at the beginning of this year.

Farmer’s union Tau also says threats to farmer safety, labour regulations and uncertainty around the redistribution of land in SA is pushing farmers to leave the country.
