Former Ministers to receive state funerals

The Presidency office has announced that the late Minister of Public Service and Administration, Roy Padayachie together with the late former Minister Sicelo Shiceka will receive a state funeral.

Spokesperson in the Presidency Mac Maharaj says this category of a funeral is reserved for ministers who are still serving in office.

Padayachie died in Addis Ababa on Saturday morning while on official business.

Maharaj says all national flags will fly at half-mast at all flag stations in the country to honour both Padayachie and Sicelo Shiceka. 

Padayachie will be buried on Wednesday in Durban, while former Minister Shiceka will be buried on Saturday, in Midrand, Gauteng
