The ANC in the Western Cape is extremely concerned about the closure of at least 27 schools in the province.

The ANC`s Marius Fransman says this will have a negative impact on communities and people.

Fransman has challenged the Western Cape’s Education MEC Donald Grant to a public debate in Bishop Lavis.

Fransman says this is unacceptable that the MEC has proposed to close schools and that will affect mostly the Afrikaans and Xhosa speaking communities.
