Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has denied that SA hospitals are facing a shortage of HIV treatment medication.
Motsoaledi says every medical supply depot has an adequate supply of the ARV drug Tenofovir.
However, HIV awareness group Treatment Action Campaign has reported several shortages of Tenofovir at clinics since March.
The Minister admitted that stocks of the drug had run low after the company hired to import the drug failed to meet the contractual obligations.
