A motorcyclist was critically injured on Monday after being struck by a minibus taxi in Benoni.
Netcare 911s Jeffrey Wicks said it appears as though the rider was sideswiped by the mini bus taxi when they were travelling in the same direction.
Wicks said the rider was flung from the bike into the carriageway.
The rider sustained serious injuries and had a severe asthma attack.
Wicks said the rider was stabilised on the scene and airlifted to hospital.
The cause of the accident remains unclear and will be investigated.
