A motorcyclist lost control of his bike in Kroonstad.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured.
At this stage the cause of the accident remains unclear and will be investigated by the police.
Netcare 911’s Jeffery Wicks said it appears that the motorcyclist lost control of his bike while surrounding a bend.
Wicks said the bike left the road and the motorcyclist struck a pole and plunged from the mangled wreckage.
Paramedics treated and stabilised the motorcyclist at the road side.
The rider was then taken to hospital.
