Afri forum: Farmers should be declared a priority in SA

Afriforum are calling on new National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega to have farm murders declared a priority crime in and to have specialist units established for rural safety. South Africa

Deputy CEO of AfriForum Ernst Roets says a disproportionate number of farmers are murdered in every year compared with the national murder rate.South Africa

He says a letter was handed in at Phiyega’s office today.

He added that they have already taken it up with the Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa and they have already indicated that they will provide them with more information on the matter.
