Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan says concern is rising about corruption in government.
Gordhan told the SA Institute of Professional Accountants’ conference in Boksburg that some civil servants have created businesses on the side so that they can benefit from dishonest tender processes.
Corrupt business people collaborate and bribe these civil servants to steal from the state.
Gordhan called on accountants to help create an ethical culture in all organisations.
