The public participation for the street name changing in Cape Town is complete.
The list of potential names is ready to be sent to the Western Cape Mayor Patricia de Lille for consideration.
Transport Mayoral Committee Member Brett Herron said that the public participation started in March and they are happy with the submissions they have received.
Herron said that they made ten recommendations to the Mayor to change some street names and about seventeen street names will remain unchanged.
Among the recommended names are to change the,Hendrick Verwoerd near Belville to be renamed to Uys Krige Road and the Vanguard Drive to Dullah Omar Drive.
