Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe addressed the International Aids Conference in Washington in the United States on Sunday.

Motlanthe will tell delegates about South Africa's fight to lower the infection rate of HIV/Aids.

This is while speculation around his political future continues in South Africa.

The deputy president’s spokesperson Thabo Masebe said Motlanthe will also speak about the record number of people testing for the virus and the drop in mother-to-child transmissions.
