Correctional Services Minister S’bu Ndebele has announced that former police chief Jackie Selebi will be released from prison today.
Ndebele said in Pretoria that the former Interpol president is too ill to remain in prison.
Selebi has served less than one of the 15 years he had been sentenced to for corruption.
In January 2008, he was put on extended leave as national police commissioner.
