Smoking regulations should be viable says Francois

The Tobacco Institute of Southern Africa says new draft regulations on smoking are excessively restrictive.

CEO Francois van der Merwe says they support the regulation of smoking in public places.

Merwe says the regulations should be practical, enforceable and fair to both smokers and non-smokers.

The Institute is of the opinion that additional enforcement and not additional regulations will be more effective.
