An off-duty lifeguard rescued two teenagers in Port Edward this morning.

The teenagers a 15-year-old male and a 13-year-old female are siblings and were being swept out to sea at a beach at Glenmore.

The National Sea Rescue Institute Spokesperson Craig Lambinon says the off-duty lifeguard had already saved the teenagers when they arrive on the scene.

Lambinon said the teenagers were treated on the scene and then transported to the Hospital for further treatment of near drowning symptoms.
