The 16-year-old boy arrested in connection with the murder of a Griekwastad couple and their daughter appeared in the town's magistrate's court today.
Deon Steenkamp, his wife Christel and their daughter, Marthella, were shot dead on their Northern Cape farm Naauwhoek on Good Friday.
Journalists in the court heard that the teenager knew he was a suspect and was prepared for his Tuesday arrest at his school in Bloemfontein.
He is likely to be held in the local police station's cells ahead of a formal bail application tomorrow.
