A woman was killed and 12 people were injured when a minibus taxi overturned near the William Nichol off ramp on the N-1 in Sandton, Johannesburg, this morning.

Witnesses say a burst tyre had apparently caused the accident.

Four people are in a critical condition, with one having been airlifted to hospital.

Peak traffic on the highway was severely disrupted.
