Crime combating strategy delivering results

The Western Cape Police Service conducted crime raids across Cape Town over the weekend in an attempt to root out violent gang-related crimes within the Province. 

Captain FC Van Wyk said the police went out in full force in different areas. 

Van Wyk explained that police netted drugs estimated to the value of R3.8 million, including tik, dagga and cocaine and arrested 846 suspects.

Thirty-two illegal firearms were confiscated where 30 suspects have been arrested.
