Global wildlife monitoring network Traffic
today warned that 515 rhinos could die in South Africa by the end of this
year if no action is taken to stem the criminal trade in rhino horns.
Their latest report says 281 animals were killed as of the end of July with escalating poaching rates putting many more in danger.
Last year 448 rhinos were killed compared to only 13 in 2007.
