Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale has told Members of Parliament that the Free State human settlements department could be placed under administration.
Sexwale says officials have uncovered irregular expenditure in the provincial department amounting to about half-a-billion-Rands.
He added that there was a mismatch between money spent and houses built.
The Minister revealed that Auditor General Terence Nombembe had presented him with a report on allegations on these and other issues.
