The Inkatha Freedom Party in Kwa-Zulu Natal says they are gravely concerned by increases in road accidents that have led to the deaths of school children travelling with improper transport to and from school.
IFP Spokesperson Mntomuhle Khawula says the issue of learner transport should be a priority for both the department of education and transport.
He says South Africa cannot afford to lose more school children in road accidents.
He added that in more incidents the cause of accidents is the inappropriate mode of transport that is being used.
