The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the Western Cape today will hold discusion regarding the 44 deaths at Marikana mine.

Violence in the mining town flared up when almost 3, 000 rock drillers from Lonmin’s Marikana mine embarked on an illegal strike two weeks ago.

Meanwhile the mine Management said that it will be months before the mine CEO Ian Farmer can return to work.

Farmer was admitted to hospital soon after the rock drillers embarked on a strike.

Some of the victims were buried on Saturday in the North West and the Eastern Cape.
