Thousands of men, including mineworkers, have gathered at Wonderkop in Marikana in North West.
Expelled and suspended members of the ANC Youth League have arrived in the area near Rustenburg.
Julius Malema is expected to address the crowd this afternoon. Former Youth League spokesperson Floyd Shivambu told reporters the mineworkers deserve to be paid more than the four-thousand-Rands a month some of them get.
Shivambu alleges that most of the 34 mineworkers who were killed when police opened fire on
them on Thursday had been shot in the back, indicating that they had been running away.
