Petrol price increase

South African motorists should tighten their belts as the price of petrol is likely to hit record highs in coming months.

An increase of around 70-cents-a-litre is expected next month.

Efficient Group economist Dawie Roodt says the latest increase in international oil prices is the main contributor to higher fuel prices in the next few months. 

He added that the fact that the Rand has been weak in recent weeks also gave reason to the increase.
